It’s apparent that Autumn’s colorful display is center stage right now. With each and every year that passes, I like to try new ideas to decorate my home with a Fall inspired theme. I love Fall and based my theme this year on “Bringing Autumn Inside.”
Nearby farms, have so much to offer when gathering props needed for Autumnal decor. Mixing vintage pieces found at the flea, for example, a small suitcase, pottery pieces and a book on leaves, not only adds a focal point, but charm too. Ball jars with fresh leaves tie in that element of surprise. Tea lights were used to bring that subtle glow that illuminate this colorful natural vignette. By placing tea lights right behind the mason jars adds that perfect pop of color needed.
I like thinking outside the box here. Add simple features that creates height, color and elements of surprise. Use Autumn’s harvest as a prop for that natural look. Venture outside and see what’s in your backyard to collect such items as: acorns, branches, birds nests, crisp leaves, feathers, pine cones and dried pods.
Then, layer items; mix and match to your liking. Be inspired by Autumn’s splendor and bring it inside.
Enjoy, Autumn in your home this season. Make it warm, inviting and ornamental.
